It’s simple common sense to ask for tenants to give a security deposit to protect against possible damage to your property, which at the end of the tenancy, we return as long as the property has been returned to us in a satisfactory condition. We provide this service for our managed properties and for a small fee can do the same if your property is a let only. The process of deposit returns can be straight forward, but occasionally there can be a problem which is where having an independent third party to act as an intermediary can be helpful. As a law abiding agent we register the details of each deposit taken at the start and end of any assured shorthold tenancy.  This means that in the event of any dispute about the amount being returned it can be dealt with fairly and quickly by The Dispute Service. For details of how your deposit is protected by the TDS, go to www.thedisputeservice.co.uk for more information.
